Marketplace in Georgia
What to know about Georgia Marketplace coverage for 2027.
Where to enrollGeorgia Access
Georgia runs its own state Marketplace, Georgia Access, instead of HealthCare.gov. Income-based tax credits are only available through the Marketplace. You can enroll on Georgia Access yourself or with a licensed agent like me, at no extra cost.
2027 Open EnrollmentNov 1, 2026 – Jan 15, 2027
Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Enroll between December 16 and January 15 and coverage starts February 1. After that, you need a qualifying life event to enroll.
Tax credits100% to 400% of poverty level
For 2027, premium tax credits are generally available if your household income is between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level. The extra help for incomes above 400% ended after 2025, and repayment limits no longer apply, so an accurate income estimate matters.
MedicaidPartly expanded
Georgia has not fully expanded Medicaid. Its Georgia Pathways program covers some low-income adults who meet work or activity requirements. If your household income is at least 100% of the federal poverty level, Marketplace tax credits through Georgia Access can lower your premium.

Questions
Common questions from Georgia Marketplace shoppers.
Does it cost more to use an agent for Marketplace coverage in Georgia?
No. My help is free. I’m paid by the insurance company you choose, and your premium is the same whether you enroll with me or on your own.
When can I enroll for 2027 coverage in Georgia?
Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027 on Georgia Access. Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1. If you enroll between December 16 and January 15, coverage starts February 1.
Will I qualify for a tax credit?
For 2027, premium tax credits are generally available if your household income is between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level and you can’t get affordable coverage through a job. The extra help for incomes above 400% ended after 2025. I’ll estimate your credit with you before you choose a plan.
What if I miss Open Enrollment?
You can still enroll if you have a qualifying life event, such as losing job-based coverage, moving, getting married or having a baby. You usually have 60 days from the event. Medicaid and CHIP accept applications year-round.
Can I use an agent with Georgia Access?
Yes. Georgia Access lets you enroll on its website or with a licensed agent or broker. Working with me costs nothing extra, and I can help you compare plans, apply for tax credits and enroll.
What happens when I turn 65?
Marketplace coverage generally isn’t meant for people on Medicare. I’ll help you plan the switch to Medicare so there’s no gap in coverage, and you can work with me for both.
